Tempt Your Tummy.               Things I Think About.               Project Time.

25 July 2011

Menu Plan Monday for July 25th.

So my weekend highlights include awesome new hair, thanks to my favorite hair stylist returning (Thanks Greg!), freezing 7 gallons of broccoli and another 5 gallons of zucchini, and a trip to the French Creek Game Farm on Sunday with the Rangers from church.  With the exception of hurting my back for no good reason other than now being 40, it was a great weekend.

Brent, Brianna, John, Josh & Josiah at the Game Farm.

We had a great time, even in the heat.

This week I work an extra day with my friends at UHC.  While I love not working full time, I do miss the people I used to work with.  It's nice to go back from time to time and see them again.  Especially when I'm getting paid for it.

I also have a 31 party to go to at my sister-in-laws this week.  I wanted to go to one this past Friday, but my niece's birthday party was that day (which we still missed thanks to a stomach virus that made the rounds).  I love bags - purses, tote bags, book bags - all of them.  Can't wait to see the bags in person.

I'm counting on my slow cooker to get me through the week.  I'm also sneaking a nice filling salad into the mix.  Hopefully it goes over OK.  No one says anything about a salad as a side, but sometimes I get grief about it as the main dish.  We'll see how it goes.

Here's this weeks plan:

Monday:  BBQ chicken, baked potato and sauteed zucchini.
Tuesday:  Hot dogs, potato salad and grapes.
Wednesday:  Chef salad with honey vinaigrette dressing.
Thursday:  Dinner at CJ Maggies with our older nieces.
Friday:  Turkey and black bean enchiladas, refried beans and salad.
Saturday:  Homemade pizza and salad.
Sunday:  Leftovers or BLT's if no leftovers.

We're seeing Smurfs with the boys and some friends on Saturday then coming back home for pizza and hanging out.  Smurfs.  Is there anything they won't remake these days?

I'm also going blackberry picking this week and then making some jam for Christmas gifts.

I'm really going to try to keep things low key this week.  I'm planning on starting school with the boys next week.  Change that.  I am starting school next week with the boys.  It's on my calendar, and I'm sticking to it.

Hopefully, this week goes smoothly.

So, what's good at your house?
