BBQ Ham Sandwiches

My Nan and my Mom have been making this sandwich for as long as I can remember.

It's just about a perfect recipe in my book - mainly because it's good, quick and easy.

It's a hot BBQ ham sandwich.

Here's what you need:

1-2 pounds of chipped ham
1 bottle barbecue sauce
sprinkle of brown sugar

OK, now here comes the tricky part.

Dump it all in the crock pot and turn it on low for anywhere from 4-6 hours.

Next thing you know, you'll have delicious hot BBQ ham all ready to pile on a nice sandwich bun - maybe even a slice of provolone cheese.  Umm....yummy.

This is perfect for after church.  It takes practically no time to put together before you leave and it's ready to eat when you come home.  If the sermon goes little long, it's  very forgiving.  I also like to use this when we go grocery shopping so lunch is waiting on us and we avoid the drive thru.

And one last thing:  this is a super cheap meal.  I picked up a pound of chipped ham on sale Thursday for $1.88/pound and the BBQ sauce was a steal at $0.50/bottle.  Add a nice pack of buns and some apples and lunch is done for well under $5 for the five of us.  This actually made enough leftovers that we're having it again today.

I told you it was a great recipe.

I actually picked up 4 pounds of ham when it was on sale and froze 3 pounds. Cheap, easy and quick. Hope you guys like it too.
