Me. The Israelite.

Let me just start by saying that I am overwhelmingly disappointed by the election results.  As a small business owner, health care provider, lifelong resident of coal country and Christian, I have a firm grasp on the implications of America's decision.

Having said that, are we Israelites?  Is God only in control when things are going the way we want them to?

I read through my Facebook feed and am overwhelmed.  Not because of what I read necessarily, but because what I'm reading mirrors my thoughts.

How many times have I read Exodus and judged the children of Israel for doubting God, despite His providence and miracles?

It's different for us though.  We're entitled to our "woe is me" attitude.  It's not like God has done anything for us.

Oh wait.  That's not true is it?

Instead of hitting Facebook today to declare our doom and gloom, why don't we hit our knees and cry out to our heavenly Father.  Not because Obama is our President, but because Jesus is our King.

Father, I thank you that you are in control.

He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved. Psalm 62:6 (AMP)

Thank you Charli...I've spent my morning crying (literally...tears streaming down my face) over worry for this country, for this state, and for my family and friends. Your blog has just kept me in check and reminded me that all things are in God's control and for a reason.

I have to ask why are people so upset and crying now? Should we have been praying to The Lord our God all along? I don't let politics and difference of opinions dictate my prayers for my country and all of its leaders. Just saying.

Amen! I sent an email out to my family saying, "oh boy". I basically said we brace ourselves for the next four years.

I always feel, however, God is with us regardless. I know he is in control and He placed Obama in the White House again. He has a plan. We just can't see it.

@Vicki I have been praying all along. And I will continue to pray. And I would have continued to pray if the outcome had been different. I cry a LOT when I worry about my family...it's just how my emotions come out (even when I'm angry). It's how God made me.

Jack (our 5 year old) says today upon hearing the results: Well, at least in 4 years Obama will be out of here, and Jesus will still be KING. amen. but yes..I admit I cried a little and then got on my knees literally and prayed for our leaders, our country and our childrens future. God is good--and He is in control.
