Tempt Your Tummy.               Things I Think About.               Project Time.

18 March 2013

Menu Plan Monday for March 18th.

What a great weekend!

Ronnie surprised me by bringing home dinner and asking me to just slow down for one weekend.  He could see that I was overwhelmed with all I have to do and you know what?  He was right.  I needed a weekend to just stay home and do what I wanted to do.  So while he worked a double on Saturday, I stayed home and played with the boys and cleaned my pantry.  Then Sunday, I cooked most of the day and got some stuff done to help this week go a little smoother.  Why do I need a smooth week this week?

Because it's finally time for the Woven Craft Expo!

I am so excited.  As I started this project, I was praying I would have 30 crafters and vendors so I would have a good variety for the show.  I currently have 44.  44!  And so many talented people have signed up to show.  I am overwhelmingly happy.  If your close by, make some time in your schedule to stop by.

On the home front, the chickens are still laying and the chicks are getting huge!

They have all survived a case of pasty butt.  And yes, that's a real thing.  I am not only now a chicken farmer, I'm also a chicken nurse.  My chicks are no longer adorable looking.  They're kinda in a scraggly stage while their new feathers are coming in.  I just can't believe how big they've gotten already.  It's only been three weeks!

Since I have a big week of life and craft show, I'm keeping to a simple menu.

Monday:  Cheeseburgers, baked sweet potato and salad.
Tuesday:  Eating at the in laws, while I help set up their computer.
Wednesday:  Crescent chicken, mashed potatoes and peas.
Thursday:  Steak bites salads.
Friday:  Boys at Mamaw's, leftover for Ronnie & I.
Saturday:  Cheese manicotti, salad and garlic bread.
Sunday:  Breakfast for dinner.

Don't forget to check out orgjunkie.com for more great menu ideas.

Ah, yes. Pasty butt. A few of ours had it. But, it was easy enough to wash off. I think they only had it once.

I'm glad to hear you have eggs coming from your hens. We are now getting about 5 or 6 a day. It's cool. We have nearly 2 dozen right now in the fridge. It's such a great feeling. And, the little ones love to hold them. :)

Hooray for eggs!

I fed the chicks greek yogurt mixed with chick feed and added ACV to the water. It cleared up the pasty butt right away. I only had to clean them twice. Ronnie actually bought a gallon of ACV to add to the cows water barrel. If it's good for us (and chicks) it should be good for them.

I wish I was close to Fairmont, cause I'd be there at the craft expo! I love browsing (and buying) handmade goods.
