My mother in law, Marion & I went out this morning for a sneak peak and here is what I found:
King size comforter set from JC Penneys - $20
Eddie Bauer clock - $4
Spice cabniet organizer - $0.50
Box of 15 working solar lights - $8
For Ronnie: 3 long sleeve shirts, 3 short sleeve shirts, 3 pants, 3 sweaters
1 boys hoodie
2 girl abercrombie sweaters
And below: Old navy sweater, gap hoodie, abercrobmie sweater, old navy pants, shirt & sweater, denim skirt w/ shorts under it and brown leggings and stripped shirt.
All of these clothes for $2. Total.
I also picked up two pairs of crocs for me for $1 each, one purse and one bag ($1 for both) to use for our towels when we go swimming this summer.
Total spent for today: $37.50.
A couple of hints for yard sales.
If you planning on buying more than one item, see if you can get a better deal. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, be respectful of their decision.
Try to take small bills with you.
I only buy clothes or shoes that I can wash with hot water in the washer. Especially shoes. This really applies to just about anything fabric for me.
Think about others when possible. Today, I could get all the clothes that fit in a kitchen size garbage bag for $2. Ronnie's stuff only filled up half the bag. I filled the other half up with girls clothes for my friends with girls. I was paying $2 either way - why not pass on a blessing.
Tomorrow there are lots of choices locally for yard sales.
Grab a newspaper and the Bulletin Board and get going.
See you there!
