10 September 2012

Menu Plan Monday for September 10th.

What a fun weekend!

We had a great time at the fishing park celebrating Josh's 8th birthday.  It combined two of his favorite things - fishing and Star Wars!

I actually had a great time talking to friends and family while the kids played by the pond.

This week is a two day work week, plus I'm on call Friday.  Tis the season to make some Christmas money.

I also wanted to share with you that I recently joined Weight Watchers.  Last week was my first weigh in and I lost 5 1/2 pounds.  I'm pretty excited about that.

This weeks menu is nothing too fancy, just good food.

Monday:  Best meatloaf ever, baked potatoes and carrots
Tuesday:  Honey grilled chicken, cheesy broccoli, sauteed zucchini
Wednesday:  Steak, sweet potatoes and salad
Thursday:  Chicken ranch tacos with all the fixins and peaches
Friday: Crock pot tilapia, fried potatoes and corn
Saturday:  Homemade pizza, and salad.
Sunday:  Leftovers

There you have it.  Nothing fancy.  Just good.

YAY!!! Congrats on the weight loss. If you are still in the free trial stage and haven't paid yet...there's a site called myfitnesspal.com and it is pretty much identical to weight watchers online except that it's free. Instead of points, it gives you a calorie limit, plus there is an app so you can keep track when you're not around your computer.

Lori, I've tried the free stuff before - like Sparkpeople. I know it works, but I need the accountability of weighing in at a meeting right now. I just decided that I am worth $40 a month. Plus, WW's program is both meetings and online for $43/month - so it's not as expensive as before.

Great job! I have a weight watcher app that cost like 5.99, I believe. I lost twenty pound with it. I kept it off until I got really sick. It is called the Ultimate Weight Watcher. It would be great in addition to your program. It is the closest to WW. It uses the points and can be used instead of the calculator. It keeps a food diary and weight loss chart, plus many extras. When your with others, no one can tell that you are counting points while you're eating with them. The Fast Food Nutrition app was great also. You can make decisions in the car or before you get to the counter to order your food place without the panic of what you can eat. I think it was 3.99. They also have a free version. It goes by WW points or calories. Also a bar code scanner for labels helped me scan foods in quickly or make a better decision at the store much quicker. I didn't join WW but my mother-n-law bought the books and calculator for me. I also love the WW stainless steel measuring spoons.
