Menu Plan Monday for November 12th.

Good Morning!

Despite working an extra day and a half, last week went really well.

My pantry challenge is finally showing some progress.  I was actually able to buy some milk and bread for the freezer.  I hate running to the store just to pick up milk and bread.  I almost always end up picking up something else.

I'm also probably a little too excited that my "new to me" Ipod came in the mail on Friday and it actually works.  Some of you may remember that I dropped my Ipod Touch earlier this year.  I didn't realize how much I use it.  I picked up a used one from Ebay that is twice the memory size of my old one and two generations newer for $80.  Happy girl!

I spent some time last week planning my menu out for the next four weeks.  I am doing my best to slow down this Christmas and enjoy it.  I've been working on gifts and Christmas cards a little at a time this year.  Having the menu plan penciled in for the next four weeks just helps with my sanity.

Here's this weeks plan:

Monday:  Cheeseburgers, cheesy oven potato skins and peaches
Tuesday:  Crock pot Island Pork and rice.
Wednesday:  Spaghetti and meatballs, green beans
Thursday:  Honey grilled chicken, carrots and noodles
Friday:  Pizza night and salad
Saturday:  Leftovers
Sunday:  Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's home.

Yep, that's right.  Another "not on Thanksgiving" dinner.  My brother is the Director or Food and Beverage at Stonewall Resort.  Believe it or not, that place is packed on Thanksgiving.  His wife, Carla, came up with the idea of eating on a different day.  I don't know why we didn't think of it before.  Thanksgiving is always so rushed with him running out the door to work.  I'm looking forward to just hanging out and enjoying our family.  Another bonus is that since we'll have had Thanksgiving dinner with both sides already, we're planning on eating dinner at the nursing home on official Thanksgiving day with my Grandma.  She's not doing well enough this year to be able to come to our home.  I'm hoping she has a good day that day so we can visit.

I'm off to get everyone ready for the Veteran's Day parade today.  Seriously, is there anything better than a parade?  Well, probably, but I still love a parade.

As always, don't forget to check out orgjunkie.com for more great menu planning ideas.

Charli, I will pray that Nan is well enough for your Thanksgiving Day visit. What a sweet idea.
